Defined vs GMGN (2026): Fees, Chains, Smart Money and Mobile

Defined and GMGN compared for 2026: trading fees, supported chains, wallet tracking and copy trading, perps and prediction markets, and Telegram bots.

Published October 20, 2026·5 min read

GMGN made its name on smart-money tracking: find the wallets that are early and profitable, watch what they buy, and copy them. It runs a web terminal and Telegram bots across Solana and EVM chains. Defined covers the same ground, following profitable traders and getting alerted when they trade, inside a terminal that also trades Hyperliquid perps, Polymarket prediction markets and sports from one USDC balance.

This comparison was checked in October 2026 against GMGN's docs and launch coverage, linked under Sources.

"Not found" means we found no such feature in its docs, site or app store listings in October 2026.

Fees

GMGN's docs state a 1% handling fee on each transaction. Its perps beta launched with 0.045% taker and 0.015% maker fees. Defined charges 0.50% per trade with a $0.25 minimum. Both charge nothing for charts, data and tracking, and neither has a subscription tier.

Wallet tracking and smart money

This is GMGN's home turf. Its wallet pages rank traders by realized profit and win rate, tag them as smart money, KOL or sniper, and let you copy a wallet's buys automatically with a size and slippage you set.

Defined approaches the same problem through its traders list and tracked-trader alerts. The traders page ranks wallets by profit over your chosen window; the trader page shows a wallet's open positions, recent tokens and trade history; and tracking a trader gives you an activity feed and alerts when they buy or sell. Each tracked trader can have its own filters: minimum and maximum trade value, token market cap range, or only the first buy of a token. Tracked traders can be organised into lists, and the same tracking works from the Telegram bot. The @defined_bot scan feature goes further: add the bot to a Telegram group and every token posted there becomes a scan with its own performance tracking, so you can see which callers in a group actually make money. The steps are in how to track a crypto wallet.

Defined does not auto-copy trades. If you want fully automated copy trading, GMGN is the tool. If you want to see what a wallet is doing and decide yourself, both work and Defined's filters are finer.

Markets and chains

GMGN is a spot terminal across Solana and EVM chains, and in September 2026 it opened a public beta of its own perpetuals, starting with SOL/USDC. Defined trades spot on Solana, Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain and Robinhood, and from the same account trades Hyperliquid perpetuals and Polymarket prediction markets, and follows live sports with their markets. Defined's charts and data also cover 70+ chains, so a token on a chain where trading is not enabled still has a full page.

Order types

Both have market and limit orders. Defined adds stop orders and recurring orders, lets you set triggers as a price or a percentage from the current price, and shows open orders as draggable lines on the chart.

Mobile and Telegram

Both have Telegram bots. GMGN's bots are built for sniping, alerts and copy trading; Defined's bot covers token lookups with charts, wallet tracking, alerts and trading, and the group-scan feed described above. Defined's iOS and Android apps carry the full portfolio across spot, perps and predictions, with push alerts.

Verdict

Choose GMGN if automated copy trading of smart-money wallets is the core of how you trade and a 1% fee is acceptable.

Choose Defined if you want wallet tracking with fine-grained alerts rather than auto-copy, a 0.50% spot fee, Hyperliquid's full perps market list, and prediction markets and sports from the same balance, on web, iOS, Android and Telegram.

FAQ

Does Defined have copy trading like GMGN?

Defined tracks traders and alerts you when they trade, with filters per trader, but it does not place copies of their trades automatically. GMGN does.

Which is cheaper, Defined or GMGN?

GMGN charges 1% per trade. Defined charges 0.50% per trade with a $0.25 minimum. Both are free to use for charts, data and tracking.

Can I trade perps or Polymarket on GMGN?

GMGN opened a public beta of its own perpetuals in September 2026, starting with SOL/USDC. We found no prediction markets. Defined trades Hyperliquid perpetuals (0.05% on top of Hyperliquid fees) and Polymarket prediction markets (0.50% per trade) alongside spot.

Does Defined check tokens for scams?

Yes. Every token page carries a risk verdict (scam, high risk, caution or verified) based on contract and market checks, and Defined asks you to confirm before a risky buy. GMGN shows security data per token from third-party providers.

Do both work on Telegram?

Yes. GMGN runs sniper and alert bots. Defined's @defined_bot does token lookups, wallet tracking, alerts and trading, and turns tokens posted in a group into a tracked scan feed.
