Defined vs DEX Screener (2026): Charts, Trending, Trading and Apps

Defined and DEX Screener compared for 2026: paid Boosts versus unpaid trending, chart and data coverage, built-in trading and order types, perps, predictions and mobile apps.

Published October 20, 2026·4 min read

DEX Screener is the most visited DEX charting site, and for many traders it is where a token's chart gets opened first. Defined started in the same place, as a real-time charting and data site, and became a trading terminal: the charts and data are still free, and trading tokens, perps and prediction markets happens on the same screen from one account.

The two products differ most in business model and in what happens after you have looked at the chart. This comparison was checked in October 2026 against DEX Screener's docs, linked under Sources.

Trending: paid versus unpaid

DEX Screener's Boosts are a paid product. According to its docs, a Boost temporarily raises a token's Trending Score for 12 to 24 hours depending on the pack, the number of active Boosts is displayed next to the token, and 500 or more active Boosts unlock a Golden Ticker. Boosts multiply an existing score rather than replace it, so a token still needs activity to rank, but money is an input to the list.

Defined's trending has no paid placements and no ads. The ranking comes from the Codex API's trending score, which is computed from onchain market activity; no project can buy a higher place. The same applies to the launchpad and category views. If you use trending as a signal rather than a billboard, that distinction matters.

Charts and data

Both are free, and DEX Screener's FAQ says its data comes straight from the chains it tracks. Its chain list is very long. Defined covers 70+ blockchains and 50M+ tokens through the Codex API, with holder lists, liquidity, trade history, token risk verdicts and launchpad stats on each token page. Defined's charts are TradingView charts with your open orders, positions, price alerts and tracked-trader trades drawn on them, and you can drag an order or an alert to a new level on the chart itself.

Trading

Third-party guides describe DEX Screener's trading as swaps routed through a wallet you connect. Defined gives you an account: sign in with email, Google, Apple or Telegram, deposit crypto or pay by card, and trade from a USDC balance on Solana, Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain and Robinhood with market, limit, stop and recurring orders. The fee is 0.50% per spot trade with a $0.25 minimum, and there is no subscription.

The same account trades Hyperliquid perpetuals and Polymarket prediction markets, so a chart, a long or short, and a bet on the outcome of a related event can all sit in one portfolio.

Wallet tracking

Defined ranks profitable traders, lets you track them with alerts filtered by trade size, market cap or first buys, organises them into lists, and shows their trades on your charts (how to track a wallet). The Telegram bot turns tokens called in a group into a scan feed with performance tracking for each caller.

Verdict

Choose DEX Screener if you want the widest possible chain list for a quick chart and you are happy to swap through a connected wallet.

Choose Defined if you want trending that nobody can pay for, the same free charts and data with trading built in, limit and recurring orders, and perps and prediction markets from one balance, on web, iOS, Android and Telegram.
